Touch referees are assessed based on different badges. In Europe there are badges for Level 1 (Entry level) to 5 (World Cup level). Referee courses help you develop as a referee and are also open to players who want to better understand the rules.

If you are interested in becoming a qualified Touch Europe referee, you will need to start by completing a Level 1 course. This will give you the basic knowledge and skills to referee during Touch. No previous experience is required to take a Level 1 course (but it's great if you do!). If you want to progress as a referee, you can also take Level 2 and 3 courses, but you must have the previous badge to take the next course.
