Touch Rugby Referee wins prizes

A first for Touch Rugby Netherlands in general.

Our Touch Netherlands referee Ian Small has been nominated for Referee of the Year,

at the Hague Sports Gala 2023.

Ian Small, originally from England, is a well-known and much-loved person within the Touch Community International.

He has acted as a referee on many international fields and he does so with great passion and pleasure.

He is even able to teach and guide players the Ins and Outs of the field.

Not very long ago there was a theme going on about the Referees in the Netherlands for all sports in the spotlight

which is more than justified.

The referee has an important role in monitoring the norms and values on the sports field and also has:

itself a vulnerable position for treatment and intimidation. That is why the referees deserve extra attention and appreciation.
