New Zealand named as host for 2028 World Cup

⏱ 21 Dec. 2023 - 16:41

FIT has appointed New Zealand as the Host Nation for the 2028 World Cup.

This means that New Zealand has trumped countries such as Australia and the United States.

New Zealand, which as a Touch nation has always been strongly represented at prestigious tournaments,

is really looking forward to it to receive countries from all over the world.

'Thanks to New Zealand's unparalleled expertise, event management skills and abundant resources

they are among the best in the world.

We are confident that this event will be a wonderful showcase for our sport in the Southern Hemisphere.”

said, FIT Chairman Mark Croston.

This is of course a great prospect for Touch Nederland to devise a strategy to participate

at this prestigious World Cup.

But first there is the TWC 2024 in Nottingham on the agenda, which will take place on July 15, 2024.
